Mariposa Arts Theatre Foundation Rehearsal Hall and Workshop

The Mariposa Arts Theatre Foundation is now in its fifth year of running and maintaining the expansive rehearsal hall and workshop (located at 12 Brammer Road in Orillia). This building was made possible by donations from many people in the Orillia and area dedicated to the perseverance of keeping theatre alive in Orillia. Originally, the Mariposa Arts Theatre Foundation was established to bring the theatre to Orillia and bring the Orillia Opera House back into its days of glory by making it a functioning theatre once again. The success of the Opera House and of Mariposa Arts Theatre Foundation can only be attributed to the hard work of many individuals over the last 40 years that kept this dream alive. In order to keep this dream alive and to keep quality theatre productions to grace the stages of the Orillia Opera House, the support of the community is always needed. Whether by attending MAT film nights, MAT stage productions, supporting the various fund-raising activities or by contributing funds to the Mariposa Arts Theatre Foundation, MAT requires that you be there for us, and the Foundation will continue to give back to the community by producing quality theatre productions, bringing festival quality films to the Galaxy Cinema, and by enriching the community of Orillia and area with its artistic endeavours.

Our current fund raiser is the “Orillia Applause Pack” coupon book. The books are $25.00 and funds go directly to MATF. This coupon book has many offers within it and you will quickly recover the cost of the book by just visiting one of the sponsors within it. Please, inquire with any MAT member and obtain this wonderful booklet!

Current projects that we require funds for (our list of “nice to have” but currently under funded) include paving the parking lot, landscaping the exterior grounds and further construction to finish off the rehearsal hall (painting, shelves etc.). The Foundation is always willing to accept any gifts to further our cause. MATF is a charitable Foundation and tax receipts will be provided for donations.
